The New Standard for Teachers

A recent report by KSL News, “Tiptoeing through civics lessons,” highlights a serious challenge in our schools. It found that many teachers are nervous about teaching history and civics. Because our world feels so divided, some educators feel like they are avoiding conflict.

At Founders’ Five, we believe that no teacher should have to feel this way.

The Problem: A Lack of Solid Ground

When there is no clear standard for teaching the Constitution, teachers are left to figure it out on their own. This creates stress for the teacher and confusion for the student. When teachers are afraid to lead, our students lose out on the most important lessons of American citizenship.

The Solution: The Founders’ Five Standard

We don’t just "help" teachers; we provide them with a Professional Shield. Here is how our non-profit mission solves the "tiptoeing" problem:

  • We Use the Original Words: We don’t ask teachers to give their opinions. We focus on the actual words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. By sticking to the facts, we take the pressure off the teacher.
  • A Trusted Partnership: Through our alliance with the National Constitution Center, we provide the highest quality videos and tools. These resources are non-partisan, meaning they don't take sides in politics.
  • The 5-Minute Daily Habit: We don't overwhelm the classroom. Our simple, five-minute daily lessons build a shared identity for students and a clear "green light" for teachers to follow.

Our Commitment as a 501(c)(3)

As an independent non-profit, our only goal is to serve the public. We are funded by private donors who believe in our state’s future. This allows us to provide the "Gold Standard" of civic education to schools at zero cost to taxpayers.

While others are worried about how to teach our history, the Founders’ Five districts are leading the way. We are replacing classroom anxiety with the strength of our Founding Principles.
